1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

Run Day - Friday May 31, 2024

A well documented, three owner, actual-mile example! This 1957 Bel Air Sport Coupe is possibly the earliest production vehicle still surviving today. The car was built on the 1st day of production at the Atlanta plant! It then resided for all of its life in Florida. It was ordered with 28 factory options, some of the highlights being: power front seat, power steering, power brakes, deluxe heater, WonderBar radio, rear-seat speaker, vacuum ashtray, fender skirts, backup lights, and a day/night rearview mirror. The vehicle currently has 29 options with air conditioning having been added. It has an ultra-rare factory Continental kit and the uber-rare Chevrolet litter bag, considered the rarest option for a '57. A surviving trim tag slip under the rear seat proves this car always had the Red and Black interior, which pairs beautifully with the Black exterior paint which was also factory-correct. The only change was the roof, having originally been India Ivory, it was decided that it would be changed to Black during the restoration. The car features a 283ci Power Pack V8 with a 4-bbl carburetor and dual exhaust, and a Powerglide transmission. The miles are actual on the odometer, and the original owner had the frame-on restoration done at 49,000 miles. The car has documentation consisting of letters from both previous owners, as well as documentation of the restoration, and some original ephemera from the glove box. This is the '57 Chevy you want!
