1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS

Run Day - Friday May 31, 2024

The history and status of the first generation Chevrolet Camaro is legendary. This particular 1969 Camaro RS/SS is literally a legend. In 2004, the car received a score of 96\100, earning it “Legend” status from Vintage Certification. For over 20 years, Vintage Certification has been “providing recognition, status and provenance to unrestored cars”. They “adhere to the emerging philosophy that an original car showing wear is preferable to one that is improperly restored”. This is the type of certification that the true purest desires! And, what is even more impressive about this Camaro, is that by the current revised & updated standards of Vintage Certification's judging rubric, the car would have been granted the highest status of “Time Capsule” when it was judged in 2004. This completely unrestored car was purchased new on 4\29\69 by Mr. Nathan Miller from Dick Fencl Chevrolet in Oak Park, IL. The odometer reads 15,542 which are believed to be actual. The Dover White paint (with black hockey stripes) is all original and has been meter verified. The black vinyl top and interior are original as well. The 350\300hp L48 Turbo-Fire V8 engine is original to the car, as is the Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and the 3.31:1 Positraction rear end. The car is equipped with factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes (disc front), tinted glass, console with bucket seats, AM\FM radio and 8-track player, rear speaker, Rally wheels with Uniroyal Tiger Paw white-letter tires, dual exhaust, instrument gauge pkg, and chrome bumpers. Several pieces of original paperwork still accompany the vehicle, including the protect-o-plate, owner's manual, Illinois invoice, dealer deposit receipt, finance papers and insurance forms, and a copy of the retail order form. A true “Time Capsule” indeed!
